Our Marae

Yesterday on the 4th of September the people from the Waitangi Education Center came to our school and we spent the entire day with them in our social studies class. With them they brought their gear such as their surface tablets and i-pads. They also brought along their Virtual Reality set and their green screen stuff.

We spent our day in the social studies classroom and worked on making a class Marae. We all made individual pou with Sculpt GL that had meanings to us and we also made our pepeha on Paint 3D to go in our Marae above our Sculpt GL pou.                                                                                                                                                 >> We then added decorations outside our Marae on the virtual reality like people (photos of
ourselves), trees, plants, and other things.

  1. Kia Ora Malia, thanks for sharing your work as well as your experiences of working with the Raranga Matihiko programme and whaea Monika and Kerry. The virtual marae is a great way to showcase everyone's pepeha and pou that they created. It was good that you were able to help make the outside of the virtual marae by creating some of the plants, trees and photos. Ngā mihi, Tara
